Value Schools Foundation in Action: Career Exploration at Capital Group

"This experience really opened my mind to finance and investing. I'm grateful to the people who taught me today and I'm interested in working at Capital Group."

   – Alice M., Central City Value Student

These career exploration events provide our students access to professionals in their place of business. During the event students participate in interactive sessions designed to inform them about career opportunities.

On August 31st, under the guidance of CAP Associate Lacey Hines and Value Schools Foundation Board member Amanda Sweeney, our committed friends at Capital Group developed an immersive, full-day workshop for our students.

Value Schools students traveled to the 55th floor of the Capital Group corporate offices and were paired with a "CAP Buddy." Students learned important aspects of investment management, developed their resumes and interviewing skills, and participated in a workshop on self-advocacy.

We are grateful for the leadership, creativity and initiative demonstrated by Lacey Hines, Amanda Sweeney and the entire Capital Group team for providing an interactive career exploration experience for our students. Providing access to professionals in their space of work empowers our students to better envision their future. It is a powerful way to give back to our community and we are very appreciative.

Call to Action!

Opportunities like this provide our students a chance to connect their education with real-world experience.
